Setting up a TikTok Shop was Tough but Worth it

Setting up a TikTok Shop was Tough but Worth it

I have over 36,000 followers on TikTok so I thought it would be foolish not to take advantage of that and set up a TikTok shop for my account.

I have been on TikTok for nearly 2 years and I have enjoyed every minute of it.  So the time has come to take my TikTok adventure one step further with a VR TikTok shop.

Trying to set up the TikTok shop along side Shopify was not as easy as I first thought it would be.  Maybe it was a little naive of my to presume that it could all be done with a few clicks of the mouse.

After working through the help files and getting some great support from Shopify support team, I finally managed to get my VR merch listed on TikTok.

It is important to know that having products linked on your TikTok video, dramatically reduced the amount of views that you would get on your non link videos.

i.e. My usual VR cricket videos get between 1500 - 3000 views on the first day that they are published.  BUT if I add a product link of the same type of video, I would be lucky to get 300-500 views for that video.

I can only presume that this is TikTok's way of trying to make you pay for advertising the product by buying ads.  I find that a little frustrating.  After building a large following it would be nice if all my followers were able to see products that I am trying to promote.

That being said, TikTok is a valuable advertising resource that is too good to say no to.  Maybe I should invest in buying some ads and see what happens.
